I'm not thrilled about it so far, but a let down would be a stretch. The statement about 20 more international bands has me hopeful.

Throw me Yes, Buffalo Springfield and Jimmy Buffett and I would be very happy.

That said I am really hoping to NOT go every night after what will be a very busy June so if its scheduled well I will be Winning!

There's no way that this year's line-up was going to beat last year's...last year was stellar.

Who am I looking forward to the most? From what's announced so far, I'm somewhat excited about My Morning Jacket since I've never seen them and used to like them about 5 years ago...I should listen to their recent stuff.

Looks like I'll be going to Heavy MTL at the end of July for my fill of metal. }:|

At the moment I'd say a tad underwhelming but it seems like the big guarantee artists haven't really been announced. Northern Wish'd know better than I as to the dollars but Huey Lewis and the News make top dollar in Vegas and the Casino circuit almost exclusively. I wouldn't be surprised if Hall & Oates is a legit rumour. Seems like the boomer set hasn't been well represented across the board.

As usual the sidestage gems will be unmatched. Dennis Coffey for instance is one of the original Funk Brothers and defines the soul wah guitar sound on countless tracks as a sideman, his solo album Scorpio, and his new self titled album backed by Will Sessions (fronted by trumpet player arranger Sam Beaubien - Mayer Hawthorne and the Country and principally Black Milk's Album Of The Year, and bass player Tim Shellaberger). Will Sessions is at the forefront of the Detroit neo-soul revival in Hip Hop but have a huge repertoire of their own, as jazz players first they're the perfect band to back Coffey (akin to the Dapkings or Betty Lavette's new backing band).

Dennis Coffey releases self-titled backed by Will Sessions

Dear Whiny fucks,

You people that are complaining are fuÇking retarded. Just shut yer pie holes and thank someone you live in a city that consistently puts on a great music fest year after year.

The lineup is great, so STFU and go back to work.

Love,

me

Dearest Judgemental Prick,

Some of these folks have just a weeeee bit of experience (not expecting you to understand) with regards to this festival. So if they want to voice their displeasure, with what is obviously a much weaker than usual lineup announcement, then you might want to afford them their time and space.

Love,

Me

On the plus side, Mark Kozelek is on the Black Sheep stage, which tends to be sufficiently isolated to avoid sound bleed from other stages. Anyhow, still lots of holes to be filled, and while I certainly wouldn't call this year's lineup a knockout , there is enough going on that I think I will enjoy.

And let’s not overlook classic rockers Peter Frampton, John Fogerty, Steve Miller or Huey Lewis and the News

re: the Boomer set clearly these names didn't jump out at me- that's pretty good coverage. And come on Joe Satriani! (not necessarily Boomers but Flyin' In A Blue Dream was the first CD I ever bought!).

Yeah, F U Fluffy and F U PEI and F U Velvet. No one is shitting all over the lineup. There is nothing wrong with tempered disappointment in comparison to previous years. No one said "this festival sucks" so please save it for a real internet crisis.
