Steeple Full Of Swallows - Kevin Russell

Steeple full of swallows

Hammer in the weeds

Hearth full of my head

Mosquitoes on my feet

You must be the sender

You must be the sound

You must be the reason

All the lights go down

Steeple full of swallows

Smoke in the house

Hearth full of my head

Mud in my mouth

You must be the fine hairs

You must be the frown

You must be the reason

All the lights go down

Well, the Grateful Dead's "The Days Between" had me on the verge the other night.

Dave Matthews' "Stay Or Leave" also hits a nerve.

"Blue" by Joni Mitchell is perhaps sadness perfected. I am particluarly referring to the song itself. Brilliance.

"Who Let The Dogs Out" by the Baha Boys always brings back memories of the time I killed that mailman. Tough to hear that one sometimes. Other times, not so bad at all. I dunno.

Circle Game - Joni Mitchell

Into the Mystic - Van Morrison

Bob Dylan's Dream - Bob Dylan

Girl of the North Country - Bob Dylan

Makes no Difference - The Band - Danko get's me every time.

Dark Angel - Gregg Keelor & Sarah McLachlan

Let's Get It On - Marvin Gaye

Quite a few more but I think I will stop there.

I might start crying.

"The Band - It Makes No Difference"

same here

As well as Guilty - The Blues Brothers (basically, its just John Belushi accompanied by Paul Shaeffer on piano singing a Randy Newman song. Its far too fitting.)

10-01-94 So Many Roads

Because - The Beatles (so damn beautiful)

The Little Drummer Boy

i'll go along with everything other than the little drummer boy :) "guilty" was the perfect belushi tune!

Don Williams has written/sung some tunes that melt me, too, like this one, which, if my Dad had been a singer, I'm sure he would have sung to my Mom:

I've held it all inwards

God knows I've tried

But it's an awful awakening

In a country boy's life

To look in the mirror

In total surprise

At the hair on my shoulders

And the age in my eyes

Amanda

The light of my life

Fate should have made you

A gentleman's wife

Amanda

The light of my life

Fate should have made you

A gentleman's wife

There's a world full of people

Who don't understand

The pleasures of life

In a hillbilly band

I got my first guitar

When I was fourteen

Now I'm over thirty

And still wearin' jeans

Amanda

The light of my life

Fate should have made you

A gentleman's wife

Amanda

The light of my life

Fate should have made you

A gentleman's wife

Aloha,

Brad

what a great thread...songs don't always make me cry, but certain songs definately stop me in my track...like a deer in the headlights...love that feeling....you know it's not necessarily sad, but it evokes a feeling that gets you deep. Good songs, they last forever.

Just Like Heaven- the cure

goin going gone - bob dylan and the band

slip sliding away - paul simon

Jealous Guy - John Lennon

America - SImon And Garfunkel

Love ain't for keeping - the who
